Question:
Sorry, I’ll get it right one of these days. Correction on my correction on the above two entries. I should have written “Wednesday” instead of “Thursday” concerning both Jewish and our time. Jesus died on Wednesday the 9th hour Jewish time and 3 P.M. our time. I do want to ask you something else. You said you were going to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection on Sunday when it occurred at sunset. I thought His resurrection occurred on Saturday at sunset? Would you not be celebrating it 24 hours after His actual resurrection time? Shouldn’t it be Resurrection Saturday (our time) not Resurrection Sunday?
Answer:
Saturday at 6pm ends the sabboth and begins Sunday night which precedes Sunday morning. We believe Jesus rose at Saturday 6pm exactly 72 hours after He was placed in the grave on Wednesday 6pm. Wednesday at 6pm ended the preparation of the sabboth and began the Passover [Thursday night which precedes Thursday according to Jewish reckoning]. OUR SATURDAY 6:00 PM IS THE BEGINNING OF SUNDAY! The darkness preceding the daylight.
