Q # 8366874

Question:

Dr. Lindstrom, When Jesus says,” I never knew you”, what is the setting, and when will this happen? What I’m getting at is; when Jesus “judges” the rewards of the saved at the rapture, there will be no unsaved there, and this will be the Judgment Seat of Christ, right?? It’s my understanding that God judges the unsaved at the White Throne Judgement. So, is Jesus speaking of what he will says as God, when he judges the unsaved, or do I have something out of context, out of sequence or just plain mixed up, which wouldn’t be the first time. Thanks in advance, you’ve always helped me understand everything I’ve asked you in the past.

Answer:

That day refers to the judgment of the great day or the “Great White Throne” judgment at the end of the millineum. Apparently millions that thought that they were Christians will appeal to Jesus on the basis of their works to be able to enter heaven. Jesus will reply, “I never knew you” and then they will be cast into hell. Matthew 7:22,23 are the references to which you are referring. Notice they didn’t mention the death of Christ or His shed blood. They boasted of works in three areas. 1. Preaching in the name of Jesus. 2. Healing in the name of Jesus. 3. And, MANY WONDERFUL WORKS in the name of Jesus. Ephesians 2:8,9 says, Eph 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
