Question:
In Matthew 27, the Bible says that Pilate gave Jesus’s body to Joseph. It’s not until the next day that the priests and Pharisees go and ask to put a guard detail at the tomb. Since Jesus’s friends have already had the Body to do with as they wish, maybe they switched Him with another wrapped body. Books have been written about who would have taken His body etc. But this fact seems to make all of these argurments moot. Can you lend some insight?

Remember Christ that there was no doubt that Christ had died. The problem would have been, if the body had disappeared then a resurrection could have been claimed. But, Jesus HIMSELF APPEARS which is the real proof of the resurrection. Seventeen different appearances are recorded. Jesus said, “Handle me and see for a spirit hath not flesh and bones as you see me have.” Luke 24:39.
