Question:
Dr. Lindstrom, what do you think about Hank Hanegraaff and his ministry? I listen to his program each night on my way home from work. I just completed his writings on the counterfeit revival. My question is this, what happens to the people in these congregations that believe that Jesus is Lord and died at Calvary for their sins? It just so happens they belong to a church that practices healings, speaking in tongues and many other non traditional approaches to worship. What will happen to these Pastors and their followers?
Answer:
Most of these congregations believe that you can ‘lose your salvation’. Which means that salvation is ‘of works’. This belief makes you the savior and not Christ because things that you will or will not do will determine your salvation. Therefore they are lost and are not saved. Matthew 7:22-23 describes this group that boast or bragg about their works. “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?” Jesus replies, “And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” Notice, “I NEVER KNEW YOU!” KJV
