Q # 3047170

Question:

Is the Vineyard Church a cult?

Answer:

A cult is normally defined by the denial of the five fundaments of the faith. The doctrines of heaven, hell, inspiration of the Scriptures, the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, and the doctrine of the Godhead; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Although some groups may not deny the basic doctrines that would define them as a cult, they may have cult like practices such as mind-control, etc. The major area to take a look is the gospel message. Most charismatic groups believe that you can lose your salvation. This makes salvation dependent upon how the person performs until he dies. This is works for salvation and is a false gospel. This is major. This is an accursed message. Galatians 1:8-9 states clearly, ” But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” Hope this helps!
