DR HANK: IN MY BIBLE STUDY ON FIRST PETER THE PASTOR SAID THAT HE DOES NOT UNDERSTAND THE VERSE IN 1ST PETER THAT SAYS THAT JESUS “WENT TO THE SPIRITS IN PRISON AND PREACHED” IN CHAPTER 3 OF 1ST PETER.HE SAID IT SOUNDS LIKE THESE PEOPLE HAD A SECOND CHANCE TO TRUST IN JESUS. There is no second chance. We believe that Peter is saying that the same Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead allowed Jesus to preach to generation of Noah as He spoke thru Noah to those who were ‘disobedient to faith’ in the gospel during the preparation of the Ark. These unbelievers were now in prison the the heart of the earth awaiting the day that they will be cast into hell.
