Q # 4752744

Question:

I understand your view on the “sons of God” being believers, and not angels (Heb.1:5). I also understand your view on the age of the earth being more than 6,000 years old (Jer.4:23-26). My question is: There seems to be a parallel passage in the Bible regarding Jer.4:23-26. It is found in Job 38:4-7. It states: Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding. (The implied answer is, I wasn’t there). Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? (Nobody was there!) Or who hath stretched the line upon it? (Again, the implied answer is, Nobody was there). Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? Or who laid the corner stone thereof: When the morning stars sang together, and all the SONS OF GOD shouted for joy? Who are these “sons of God” if the text indicates that all of this took place before Adam was formed? Are these “sons of God” believers from a previous civilization before God formed Adam? Did Jesus die for these “sons of God” in a previous world?

Answer:

Read the context! The sons of God here are the stars associated with the different star systems. “Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in HIS season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with HIS SONS?
