Q # 1751127

Question:

If the King James Version is so good, why is there so much antisemitism in it (along with the other translations of the Hebrew and Greek? One example: the antisemitic punctuation used between 1 Thes.2:14 and 15. vs.14 says,”For ye, brethern, became followers of the churches of God which in Judea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have OF THE JEWS: (vs.15) WHO BOTH KILLED THE LORD JESUS… The function of such a punctuation is to make the predicate, “who killed the Lord Jesus.” apply to all Jews. Without a punctuation, it reads, “the Jews who killed the Lord Jesus,” so that the predicate specifies which particular Jews are meant, namely, those who killed Him, as opposed to those who didn’t. My natural brothers and sisters (the Jewish people) suffered throuout the ages of time, and now they have been tagged” Christ killers” because of such a little thing as a “punctuation mark”. The Greek does not express this punctuation mark, but the English translations (including King James) has it. There are many other examples, but I will stop with this one. Satan hates the Jewish people, and he will use anything, including “King James” to keep Jews from coming to faith in the Messiah Yeshua (Jesus).

Answer:

We are all guilty of the death of the Lord Jesus Christ because it was ‘OUR SINS’ that took Him to the Cross. It is also true that the Jews [not the Gentiles] who killed the Jewish prophets. See Acts 7:52. You are also right that ‘ANTISEMITISM’ IS INSPIRED OF SATAN. My heart goes out to the Jewish people who have unfairly been called ‘Christ killers’. God loves the Jew and the Gentile and the same message of the Gospel brings salvation to all who believe. Romans 1:16 says, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” Also we read in Romans 10:12-13,”For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
