Q # 1758317

Question:

Dr. Hank, I’ve attended your excellent Bible studies at the Hillsborough County Center on Wednesdays but lately I’ve been buried with work on Wednesdays so I’ve missed your classes. I keep up with Sharon Carter, who let me know of your daughter’s accident; I wanted you to know that she and you are in our prayers. I did have a question. My church, Christ Community Church in Brandon, uses the NIV Bible, but there are a number of different Bible versions used by parishioners. I would not ever criticize my pastor or elders, but I use a KJV because I believe it is probably the most accurate rendition of the original Greek/Aramaic/Hebrew translations, and, therefore, probably the most accurate. But I’m hardly an expert on the subject. I do find it interesting as I am reading during church, to hear a different version read aloud; it often helps me to shed light on the subject. But my question is, I noted that you use a KJV and I wondered how strongly you feel that it is the authoritative Bible version in English ? Any advice/suggestions are appreciated. Steve Todd
