Question:
Preacher, the Bible says that you have to confess with your “mouth” the Lord Jesus to be saved. Have you done your part?
Answer:
Romans 10:9 says, ‘…With the mouth confession is made UNTO SALVATION’. Notice it doesn’t say ‘confession is made FOR SALVATION. The confession is our witness to the salvation that we received by belief or TRUST in Christ. Take note of Romans 10:8 which states, “But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;” You ask if I have done my part. As far as salvation is concerned there is NO SUCH THING AS MY PART. Jesus paid it all. Salvation is “Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Personally I confess Christ daily. I am on the radio seven days a week proclaiming Christ, plus two televion programs, Moody classes, pastor a church, personal evangelism and etc. But I don’t do this to be saved BUT BECAUSE I AM ALREADY SAVED. See Romans 10:13-17.
