When you explain the Gap theory you make me assume you mean that there were two floods (Gen. 1:2 & Noah’s). This confuses me because I was told that there was never any rain before Noahs flood. Can You help me to understand?

You do not have to have rain to have a flood. Noah’s flood was produced by rain [40days] and the fountains of the deep being opened [5 months].
