Q # 6166879

Question:

I know God directed the choosing of the 66 books that comprise our Bible. But how were they selected to be bound together in the fashion presented today? Obviously men did that. Who were these men? Thank you for taking the time to answer these questions.

Answer:

Every book of the Bible was written by an authentic spokesperson from God such as Moses. Everyone recognized Moses as God’s spokesperson. Everything Moses wrote was immediately accepted as the Word of God and the collection of Scripture began. As each prophet of God wrote, it was accepted and added to the canon of Scripture. The same is true of the New Testament. The Apostles were recognized as God’s spokepersons and as they wrote, their writings were accepted and added to the canon of Scripture. No committe ever voted on which books would or would not be accepted into the Bible.
