Question:
Dr.Lindstrom you know how Jesus never knew sin right well I don’t get 2 Corinthians 5:21 it says[For he hath made him with sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.]I don’t get it can you clear that up for me please?
Answer:
This verse is explaining the fact that ‘OUR SINS’ were laid upon Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. This Jesus who is ‘sinless’ and ‘holy’ took our place on the cross and PAID OUR SIN DEBT IN FULL. Because God’s justice was fully satisfied by Christ’s death, God can then credit our account with His RIGHTEOUSNESS. A trade was made. Our sins for His righteousness. While Jesus was on the cross He bore our sins. This is the heart of the wonderful message of the gospel.
