Q # 7339458

Question:

Back to the Word. The Bible says plainly that God is Immutable. Which means that He doesn’t change. Yet, it states that God repented that He made man on the earth. Genesis 6:6. Repentance is a change. We need to rightly divide the word of truth. In the original languages, we could take the Word of God at face value. But, we don’t have that. We have an iterpretation. So, we have to rightly divide the Word of Truth. Just like you stated about repentance. The meaning was wrongly translated. So we have to take into account, 1- the original language; 2- the context; 3- the historical time in which it was written. Paul stated that it was better not to be married. Does that mean that we shouldn’t get married? No! Marriage is honorable in all and the bed undefiled. Look at the context. Look at the historical time. He was talking about the present time then. At that time it was better not to be married. Probably because of the persecution that was going on. Again, we need to rightly divide the Word of Truth. God Bless. Wally! P.S. Just another note to throw at you. The only part of the Bible that has anything to do with us, in the Church age, is the Pauline Epistles. We learn from all the Scriptures. They all have applications for life. But the only Scriptures that deal with the Church age, are the Epistles of Paul. Other Scriptures refer to the Church age. But it was a mystery. Christ revealed the mystery of the Church to Paul.

Answer:

Wrong! I don’t believe that just the epistles of Paul relate to us today or are for the church. Sorry. Are you a hyperdispensationalist? Also, please look up the Hebrew word for repent in Genesis 6. OLD TESTAMENT: “REPENT” appears 43 times from: “NACHAM,” which means “to be comforted, to be eased, to sigh or groan, or to lament”
