Dr. Lindstrom,In Ezra 2:60 the children of Delaiah, Tobiah, Nekoda were numbered 652 and in Nehemiah 7:62 they are numbered 642.It seems that they couldn’t show that they were of Israel.Can you please explain the discrepancy in the numbers given in the two accounts? Although the total number of the congregation in both accounts are 42,360. Just curious. Thank You.

Letters in the Hebrew had numerical value. One letter miscopied would make for a discrepency. The original manuscripts were without error.
