Q # 9418965

Question:

Hank, are the beliefs of the United Methodist Church inline with biblical doctrine? Thanks, and I like the Q&A forum here.

Answer:

The United Methodist church is Arminian in doctrine. This means that they follow the teachings of James Arminius. This means ‘works’ for salvation. Methodists believe that you can lose your savation which means that you must work for your salvation. Salvation is ‘Not of Works’ so most Methodists are not saved. Some in spite of the teaching simply trust Christ as Savior and are saved.
