Question:
I am a widow and my husband has been divorced, the grounds for his divorce were not biblical based, meaning no adultry and they were both believers. My question is that he was horribly unhappy and she was mentally sick, manic depressive. Does God want someone to be unhappy and stay married for the rest of his life? The pastor of our church married us and blessed his divorce. What judgement will we have to face from God. Are we forgiven? and do we still have to face the concequences here or later in heaven.
Answer:
You are saved through faith alone in Jesus Christ. Nothing can be added or taken from that. Ecc 3:14 But there are consequences to our sins here in this life. The fact that you raise the question even though your Pastor gave you his blessing tells me that you have never felt right about it. Read I John 1:9 and claim the promise of forgiveness and cleansing through confession.
