Should Women Teach The Bible?

1. If Bible study is the main objective, what is the driving compulsion of women to have a Bible study that excludes all men?

2. Can women study the Bible better in the absence of men if the purpose is to learn the Word of God?

3. Are women authorized to teach the Word to other women according to the Scriptures?  (I Timothy 2:11,12)

4. Where in the Scriptures do we find a recommendation for women to study the Bible separate from men?  The answer is nowhere!

5. Where do we find an example in the Scriptures of women studying the Bible separate from men?
     The answer is nowhere!

6. Is there a passage in the Scripture that tells women to teach the Scriptures to other women?
     The answer is nowhere!  *Note.

7. Do passages like I Corinthians 14:35 and I Timothy 2:11,12 tell us anything about how, when and where women should learn the Bible?

8. Are verses like I Timothy 2:12 words of caution about women teaching the Word of God?

9. Doesn't it appear from the Scripture that the spiritual needs of a wife should be met by the husband?
     (I Corinthians 14:35)

10. Is an all women's Bible study a spirit-directed activity if there are no verses to support it?

11. Isn't it true that women are more easily deceived than men in spiritual matters and for this reason Satan approached Eve alone first apart from her husband? (I Timothy 2:14)

12. If one is a member of a church that has clearly stated a position on family oriented Bible study and activities where neither sex is excluded, and this member proceeds to promote, attend, or start an all women's Bible study, isn't this an open defiance of the leadership of the church?

*Note: There are many passages where men are told to preach the Word such as II Timothy 4:2, but there is no such equivalent for women.  Men are told in Titus 2:9, “Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.”

Women are not told to teach the Word, but they are given a list of items like: teaching young women, to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet keepers at home, good, obedient to own husbands, that the Word of God be not blasphemed.
