Answer:
No where are we told to pray to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 5:18 says, “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;” From this verse we learn that we are not to be controled by the influence of alcohol, but be controled by the influence of the Holy Spirit. So the better word is “controled” to describe the filling. The ‘filling of the Spirit’ occurs when we yield ourselves to obey the Holy Spirit through God’s Word. To the degree that we are obedient, we are filled with the Holy Spirit. The key is to OBEY the Lord. Good question!
