Q # 6171085

Question:

Some people believe that we have to take the Bible Literally. If we did that, then we wouldn’t have to rightly divide the Word of Truth. There are 3 things to take into account when you study the Word of God. 1-the original language: 2-the context: 3-the historical times in which it was written. Just like when you read about that God hates. You can’t take that literally. God is love. He can’t hate. He is either one way or the other. He doesn’t change. No Shadow of turning. God Bless!!

Answer:

God loves us, but He does HATE our sin. God established Marriage and God HATES divorce. These are starters. Proverbs 6:16-19 “These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.” Take a fresh look at the Word of God.
