Question:
Concerning the Blood. A body with the blood in it is also a lump of clay. Let’s look at the Word of God. In Genesis 2:7, we have the details of the creation of man. He was not alive until God gave him a soul. That tells us that life in a person is in the Soul. Not in the blood. In Leviticus 17:14, about the life of the flesh, it’s referring to animal life. Look at the context. The animals life was sacrificed to signify the Spiritual Death of Jesus on the Cross. The animal died by bleeding to death. A person cannot bleed to death. They can lose a certain amount of blood that can cause their Soul to leave their body. Look at the valley of dry bones. They had to have the breath of life to live. A Soul. In the old testament, the Blood was literal, the judgement symbolic. Now, let’s go to Jesus. He was a person. His life was not in His Blood. He did not bleed to death. He could not bleed to death. He had complete control until He dismissed His Spirit. The wages of sin is death. Spiritual Death. We die physically as a result of Spitual Death. Jesus died physically, because His work on earth was finished. “IT IS FINISHED”. He bowed His head. Thrust His body forward. This was to cause His literal blood to lay in His chest area. He was stabbed in the side with a spear. Out came blood and water. The sin debt was paid, He was physically dead, and where was His literal Blood? In His body. So, in reference to The Blood of Christ, It seems to be talking about the Sacrifice of Christ. Mainly, His Spiritual Death on the Cross. The blood, in the New Testament, is symbolic, the judgement, is literal. Sins were judged on the Cross at Calvary. Not washed away by the Blood of Jesus. Whenever you see the blood, as in Hebrews 9:22, it is talking about the blood of the animal. Look at the context. When you see the Blood of Jesus, it is a reference to the Sacrifice of Christ. Mainly, His Spiritual Death. Remember, the wages of sin is death. Romans 6:23. This is the payment that Jesus made. Even Dr. Scofield recognized this. When you see the Blood of Jesus mentioned, look at the reference column, and you will see the Sacrifice of Christ mentioned. This was the worst thing that Jesus could do. It was so bad, that God caused an eclipse, because He did not want anyone to look upon Jesus in this state. And this was the only time Jesus cried out for suffering. His literal blood had nothing whatsoever to do with paying for the sins of mankind. Sins were judged on the Cross, and Jesus paid for them by dying Spiritually. I hope, that by God’s Grace, that we can have an open mind about the Word of God and rightly divide it’s Truths. You will see that what Jesus Christ did was trully awesome. God Bless, Wally
Answer:
Wally is wrong again! Notice Genesis 9:4-6 where we read, “But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat. And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man’s brother will I require the life of man. Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.” Also again in Leviticus 17:11 states, “For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul. Therefore I said unto the children of Israel, No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood. And whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, which hunteth and catcheth any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust. For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.” Peter makes it clear that we are redeemed by the precious BLOOD OF CHRIST. READ FOR YOURSELF IN I PETER 1:19, “But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:”
