Question:
I read an article someone forwarded to me that you wrote, entitled “Easter is the Mother of Baal.” At the end of the article you referred further study to a book by Alexander Hislop titled “Two Babylons.” In trying to find some other authors who have studied the archeological finds and historical material and who agreed with Hislop, I ran across Ralph Woodrow’s book, “Babylon Mystery Religion,” which is supposed to be musch easier for the layman to understand than Hislop’s book. However, apparently Woodrow based his original book on Hislop’s “Two Babylons” without doing any independent study of his own. When he got around to researching the subject himself he found what he considered substantial inaccuracies, pulled his book from the market, and wrote another book entitled “The Babylon Connection?” in which he refutes some of the assumptions of Hislop. Can you refer me to any other sources (reputable authors, journal articles, etc.) which would support Hislop’s assertions. Thanks
